MICHAEL KIDNEY LIFE

Michael Appoh, a multi-instrumentalist, mentor and holder of the traditional title of Ajidagba of Ode-Itsekiri (Warri).

Michael Appoh received PKD diagnosis. Polycystic Kidney Disease is a condition in which clusters of cysts grow in the body, mainly in the kidney. As symptoms advanced we had to work with doctors and health care which provides his treatment plan to manage complication of the disease of which he had to be on Dialysis for 18-19 years of his life at St Charles nephrologh Nurses team, dialysis unit as a outpatient.
Michael was so positive with navigate his kidney issue challenge. He is so supportive helping people fund raising event despite his regular dialysis. He reached many, encouraged many and impacted many. May his soul rest in peace.
He pass on – Death July 15 at St Mary’s Hospital 2023. And was buried on the August 24th 2023. On the 15th of July 2024. His Michael Appoh Foundation was launched with the support of St Charles nephrologh Nurses Team. We very grateful and a Big Thank You all the staff that take care of my late husband, those in Arctic Dialysis Unit Hammersmith Hospital.
What is Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) causes cyst (fluid filled growths) to develop in your kidneys. PKD is a genetic disorder meaning you have to have a mutated changed gene to get it.
